The escalator steps are of integral type and assembly type.

The integral type is made of integral die-casting of aluminum alloy, with high precision, light weight and high processing speed.

Assembled steps are assembled from pedals, kick boards, support frames and other parts. They have large weight and poor accuracy. They are the product of small die-casting capabilities and are gradually replaced by integral steps.

The escalator is composed of several parts such as steps, traction chains, stairway guide rail system, driving device, tensioning device, handrail device and metal structure. The structure includes: pedals, kick boards, brackets, main and auxiliary wheels.

Escalators work continuously. Therefore, in public places, shops, stations, airports, wharfs, buildings and subway stations where the flow of people is concentrated, a large number of people must be transported in a shorter time. The use of escalators is better than the use of intermittent elevators. It has more advantages.

The steps move horizontally at the passenger entrance (for passengers to board the stairs), and then gradually form steps; when approaching the exit, the steps gradually disappear, and the steps move horizontally again. These movements are realized by the main and auxiliary wheels walking along different step guide rails respectively.
